Reputable Labor & Employment Defense litigation firm seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to support partners and attorneys.
Schedule
- Hybrid schedule: 2 days in office, 3 days remote
- Typically on-site Monday and Wednesday (flexible)
- Firm provides a laptop
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, format, proofread, revise, and redline legal documents
- Handle state and federal e-filing, including filings with state agencies nationwide
- Create and manually generate Tables of Authorities (TOA) and Tables of Contents (TOC) in Microsoft Word
- Save and organize documents in the firm's document management system
- Manage attorney calendars, schedule depositions, client meetings, and travel arrangements
- Assist with attorney time entry and pre-bill/invoice revisions
- Draft routine legal documents, including deposition notices and CMC statements
- Support trial preparation, coordinate court reporters, and assist during trials

- iManage (document management)
- LMS billing system
- Compulaw calendaring
- Microsoft Word advanced formatting
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of legal secretary experience
- Strong labor & employment litigation support background preferred
- Experience with document formatting, proofreading, redlining, and e-filing
- Ability to maintain highly accurate files and records
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Support Structure
- Primary support for 2 partners
- Typically supports 1 partner and 1 associate at a time
- Rarely assigned to matters with both partners simultaneously
Ideal Candidate Experienced litigation legal secretary with strong e-filing, document management, calendaring, billing support, and advanced Microsoft Word skills who can work independently in a fast-paced defense firm environment.
